FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Got questions? We’re on it.

I clicked a link about a textbook, and ended up here. What happened?

Boundless Immigration purchased the domain boundless.com from Lumen Learning in 2016. Prior to this, the domain hosted text book content, which was often cited on web pages discussing academic issues like history, sociology, or business administration. Since neither Lumen Learning nor Boundless Immigration has control of these historical backlinks to the website, thousands of them still exist, even this many years later. Boundless.com is now owned by Boundless Immigration, the Seattle-based Immigration technology company that simplifies the U.S. immigration process for individuals, families, and businesses.

Is Boundless Immigration the same company that owns boundlessimmigration.com?

The Boundless Immigration website is here, at www.boundless.com. Boundless Immigration, the U.S. immigration technology company that combines software and independent legal review to help individuals, families, and businesses navigate government visa processes has an official website on the domain boundless.com. The boundlessimmigration.com domain does not belong to Boundless Immigration.

We're a U.S. company just starting to hire internationally. Where do we begin?

You’re in the right place. Boundless works with U.S. companies expanding internationally at every stage, from a first international hire to a full global mobility program. Our team will help you understand the requirements in your target markets, build a compliant process, and support your employees every step of the way. Reach out to schedule a consultation and we’ll take it from there.

How is pricing structured for global mobility services?

Pricing for global immigration and mobility services is tailored to your company’s specific needs, such as the countries involved, case volume, and service level. We believe in transparent, predictable pricing with no hidden fees, and we’ll walk you through a clear quote before you commit to anything.

Does Boundless integrate with our existing HR systems?

Yes. Boundless offers HR System Integration, allowing you to connect Boundless to existing HRIS platforms like Workday for automatic employee data sync. This helps HR teams avoid duplicate data entry and keep case data in sync.

How does Boundless stay compliant across so many different countries?

Compliance is built into the platform. Our technology is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, and our in-house legal and immigration teams stay current on country-specific requirements. When regulations change, we update our workflows and processes.

Can my employees manage their own immigration and relocation cases through a Boundless platform?

Yes. Through the Boundless Immigration technology platform, employees can track the status of their case, complete required steps, upload documents, and communicate with their case manager — all from a web browser on any device. HR teams get full visibility into every case, along with reporting on costs, timelines, and compliance.

Does Boundless help with employee relocation, not just visa filing?

Yes, Boundless Global offers destination services to help employees in Europe settle into their new home, including housing assistance, family support, and local onboarding resources. Our goal is to make the entire experience smooth for the employee, not just get the paperwork done.

What is "global mobility" and why does it matter for my company?

Global mobility refers to the practice of moving employees across international borders, whether for permanent relocations, temporary assignments, business trips, or remote work arrangements. As companies compete for talent globally, having a reliable mobility program means faster hiring timelines, happier employees, and fewer compliance risks. Boundless makes that program easier to run.

What global mobility services does Boundless offer beyond U.S. visas?

Boundless offers full-scale worldwide workforce management. Services span international immigration, relocation, and compliance across the Americas, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Core Global Mobility Offerings include:

Global Immigration: End-to-end management of non-immigrant visas and work authorizations in key markets outside the U.S., supported by a 24/7 global network of legal experts.

Relocation Support: Holistic assistance for international employees and their families, such as in-country settling-in support.

Employer of Record (EOR): Cross-border hiring solutions via Boundless EOR to set up global employment contracts correctly and consistently.

Compliance Management: Automated tracking of global mobility milestones, audit-ready documentation, and risk mitigation across worldwide jurisdictions.

I'm currently a Localyze customer. What does being acquired by Boundless mean for me?

The Localyze team you know is still here. What's new is the added depth of Boundless' U.S. immigration expertise, attorney-reviewed workflows, and technology. For the first time, you can manage both your European and U.S. immigration needs through a single, unified platform and partner. No more handoffs between providers.

I'm already a Boundless customer. Does the Localyze acquisition change anything for me?

If you're a current Boundless business customer, the biggest change is that you now have access to more. You can manage international relocations, European work permits, destination services, and global mobility cases across continents through the same partner you already trust. Your existing team and workflows stay in place. Immigrants who are using Boundless for their individual U.S. work visas, student visas, naturalization or family-based immigration will experience no change due to this acquisition.

What countries does Boundless now support through the Localyze acquisition?

With Localyze, Boundless now has in-house teams across key European markets and a vetted partner network spanning the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The specific countries we cover are expanding. Reach out to our team and we'll give you a direct answer on coverage for your markets.

Why did Boundless acquire Localyze?

Boundless Immigration acquired our previous partner Localyze because the best immigration partners shouldn't stop at a country's border. Localyze had spent eight years building deep in-country expertise and technology across Europe, serving companies like Delivery Hero, Babbel, and Personio. Joining forces lets Boundless Global deliver a truly global solution without asking our clients to manage a patchwork of local vendors.

What is Boundless Global, and how is it different from Boundless's U.S. immigration services?

Boundless Global is our end-to-end solution for companies with immigration needs beyond the United States. Boundless Global provides expert, tech-enabled support to businesses and workers in countries across Europe, the Americas, and APAC.

Where can I find a comparison between Boundless Immigration and other immigration service providers?

Boundless primarily compares approaches, such as "immigration lawyers vs. Boundless" or "fiancé visa vs. spouse visa," rather than publishing head-to-head competitor scorecards. These comparisons explain how Boundless' lawyer-guided, flat-fee model differs from DIY and traditional law firms, and help you decide which route fits your situation best.

Does Boundless Immigration use AI?

Boundless uses modern technology, including automation and advanced software, to streamline immigration workflows for individuals and HR teams. Boundless does not allow AI alone to make decisions about your case.

How do I know I can trust Boundless with my immigration case?

Signs many customers look to when deciding to trust Boundless include: The company's long track record (since 2017) and focus on immigration only; 100K+ people and 1,000+ companies served, with a 99.7% success rate; Accreditation by the Better Business Bureau and strong online review scores; Transparent terms, disclaimers, and a written Satisfaction / Approval Guarantee.

Is Boundless better than a lawyer?

"Better" depends on your needs: If you want hands-on legal representation, in-person advocacy, or have a very complex case, a traditional law firm may be the better fit. If you want expert guidance, attorney review, and a streamlined online experience at a lower, flat cost, Boundless may be the better choice.

Outside those rules: Boundless reviews requests case-by-case but cannot refund government fees. See: https://www.boundless.com/satisfaction-guarantee

Generally, you can request a full refund of Boundless service fees within 14 days of purchase, and refunds tied to the Approval Guarantee are processed when Boundless confirms that a denial was due to its or its partner attorneys' error. Boundless typically processes eligible refund requests within 3 business days; government filing fees and third-party costs are never refundable through Boundless.

What is the Boundless approval guarantee?

For many services, Boundless offers a "Guaranteed approval or your money back" promise. This applies to family-based visas to the U.S., and not Boundless Global services. Full terms and exclusions (for example, for certain products like tourist visas) are described in the Satisfaction Guarantee and Service-Specific Terms.

What is Boundless's cancellation policy?

You can cancel Boundless if you decide not to move forward or discover you're not eligible. You generally check your case status using your USCIS receipt number or NVC case number through official government status tools. Boundless provides detailed, step-by-step instructions (with screenshots) on how to look up your status and what different messages mean.

What happens after I submit my application?

After you file, USCIS or the State Department issues a receipt notice, then processes your case, which may include biometrics, Requests for Evidence (RFEs), and an interview before a final decision. Boundless guides outline post-filing steps, how to interpret status updates, and what to expect at each stage. See: https://www.boundless.com

Can I expedite my application?

In some limited situations, it may be possible to request expedited processing from USCIS, the National Visa Center (NVC), or via premium processing for eligible employment-based petitions. I'm an immigration attorney. How can I work with Boundless?

Boundless partners with independent immigration attorneys through Boundless Legal Services and related programs. If you're an immigration lawyer interested in working with Boundless, you can review the attorney agreement and contact Boundless via attorneys@boundless.com or the contact options in our site footer.

Is Boundless good with complex immigration cases, or should I get a lawyer?

Boundless successfully supports a wide range of cases, including marriage-based green cards, fiancé visas, removal of conditions, naturalization, and complex "extraordinary ability" visas like EB-1A and O-1, with a 99.7%+ reported success rate across eligible applications. However, cases involving serious criminal history, prior fraud findings, removal proceedings, or active appeals may require a traditional attorney-client relationship and in-person representation; in those situations, Boundless may recommend that you work directly with a full-service immigration law firm.

Do immigration lawyers offer any advantages over Boundless?

Traditional immigration lawyers can represent you in court, appear with you at certain interviews, and take on highly complex or litigation-heavy cases. Boundless focuses on preparing strong applications and providing guided support at a significantly lower, flat cost, with independent attorney review for many services. For some especially complex matters, a full-service law firm may still be the best fit.

Most Boundless "Essential" services for individuals include: a complete immigration application package ready for your signature and mailing, a detailed document checklist and evidence review, unlimited live support from the Boundless team, and for eligible products, an independent attorney review and Boundless Approval Guarantee. Specific inclusions can vary by service (for example, marriage green card vs. B-1/B-2 visitor visa), so Boundless lists inclusions on each product page and in the Service-Specific Terms. For more, see our service specific terms.

Will I have a dedicated attorney?

With Boundless services that include legal support, you get access to an independent immigration attorney who reviews your application and can answer your legal questions. For business customers, legal counsel is integrated into the case workflow in the U.S., the UK, and any other country where the immigration process requires it. However, Boundless is not a traditional law firm relationship where a single attorney represents you in all settings, and services like the B-1/B-2 visitor visa do not include attorney review.

What should I expect after signing up with Boundless?

How do I get started on my travel Visa?

To get started, take our risk assessment, so that we can determine your risk of denial in order to maximize your chance of travel visa approval. The questions asked are from the actual travel visa application –– we’ve worked closely with a former consular officer to identify the right questions to ask to determine your potential risk. Once you’ve answered a few questions, we’ll guide you through the checkout process and get to work on your application.

What happens if my travel visa gets denied?

It is always at the discretion of the interviewing consular officer to either approve or deny your travel visa. Denials are common during the travel visa process, so if you do get denied, it is still possible to apply again. Boundless offers denial protection –– in the event that your travel visa is denied, we’ll help you re-apply once for free. *Please note you will still have to pay the government fee again, just not the Boundless fee.

How does the travel visa interview process work?

After you’ve filed your travel visa application (Form DS-160), the next step in the process is to schedule your visa interview. Wait times for visa appointments vary by country, so answer a few quick questions and we’ll provide you with the average time it takes to get an interview date based on where you’re applying from.

Your visa interview will take place at the U.S. Embassy or consulate where you’ve filed your application. During the interview, a consular officer will ask you questions about your intended travel to the U.S., your life in your home country, and your immigration background. The consular officer may also corroborate information you’ve included in your application and review any supporting documents you’ve brought with you.

If this seems stressful, don’t worry! We’re here to help you schedule the soonest available interview, prepare any supporting documents you might need, and practice your responses so you can attend your interview with confidence.

How much does Boundless charge for the B-1 / B-2 travel visa?

Boundless can help you assemble and file your B-1/B-2 travel visa application for $195. This flat rate covers your complete application package, interview scheduling, and personalized support from start to finish. Applicants also pay a $185 filing fee directly to the U.S. government. When it comes time to file, we’ll guide you through when and how to pay the government fee.

Can Boundless guarantee my travel visa will be approved?

Neither Boundless nor any third party can guarantee that an applicant for a travel visa will be approved. The decision to approve or deny an application is completely up to the U.S. government.

Every application that is completed through Boundless, however, is thoroughly reviewed by our dedicated team before it is submitted to the U.S. government. We also do our best to prepare you for the travel visa interview, with live prep sessions and tips from our team trained by a former consular officer (who has conducted thousands of travel visa interviews in the past).

Overall, there are many factors that may affect an applicant’s odds of approval. To improve your chances of success, take our risk assessment and we’ll make a visa plan tailored to your specific situation.
