Biden Administration Rolls Out New Legal Migration Program to Quell Border Crossings

The Biden administration will soon launch a new immigration program allowing certain Central Americans and Colombians to legally enter the U.S. as an alternative to unlawful border crossings. The program, called the Family Reunification Parole Process, will grant work permits to eligible migrants from Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras who have U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident relatives.

Majority of AI Companies in the U.S. Founded By Immigrants

According to new research from the National Foundation for American Policy (NFAP), 65% of the top artificial intelligence companies in the U.S. have immigrant founders. Experts say more welcoming immigration policies, such as an expansion of available work visas, could attract more global talent and further advance U.S. dominance in AI.

Human Smuggling on the Rise at the U.S.-Mexico Border

Since the beginning of 2023, border agents in Texas have intercepted more than 100 trucks that were smuggling migrants into the country. Smuggling networks use economic incentives and intimidation to recruit drivers – “People are the new drug — there is an opportunity to make much more money than in drugs.”

Immigration Advocates Sue DeSantis Over Florida Anti-Immigration Law

Immigration advocates have filed a lawsuit challenging Florida’s new anti-immigration law, arguing that a section of it is unconstitutional.

The American Civil Liberties Union and four other immigration advocacy groups are seeking an injunction to stop Section 10, which makes it a crime to transport undocumented immigrants into Florida.
