Unlawful Entries at Southern Border Down 70% Since Title 42 End

Unlawful entries at the U.S. southern border dropped by 70% since May 11, when Title 42 was lifted, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said.

The average number of daily encounters averaged 3,400, a significant decrease from the roughly 10,000 daily encounters prior to the end of Title 42.

Florida Admits to Flying Migrants to California

Florida has admitted to flying two planes of 36 migrants to Sacramento, California.

The first flight arrived last week carrying 16 migrants, followed by a second flight on Monday transporting 20 migrants.

California Governor Gavin Newsom accused those responsible for the flights of kidnapping, however Florida said the migrants flew voluntarily.

USCIS Reports High Average H-1B Salaries

The average salary for an employee on an H-1B work visa in computer-related positions is $130,000 a year, according to a new U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) report.

The average salary for these professionals rose by 23% between 2018 and 2022, found the Characteristics of H-1B Specialty Occupation Workers, Fiscal Year 2022 Annual Report to Congress.

Florida Republicans Urge Immigrants Not to Flee the State

Republicans who backed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ hardline anti-immigrant law are urging undocumented immigrants not to flee the state.

GOP Rep. Rick Roth said the law, which goes into effect on July 1, was intended to “scare migrants,” not drive them out of the state.
