USCIS Announces New Tool to Reschedule Biometrics Appointment Online

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) launched a new tool allowing applicants to reschedule their biometrics appointment online.

Previously, applicants had to call the USCIS Contact Center to change the date and time to have their fingerprints and photo taken.

These Driver’s Licenses Issued to Undocumented Immigrants Are No Longer Valid in Florida

Under a new immigration law in Florida, five state driver’s licenses issued to undocumented immigrants will no longer be considered valid in the Sunshine State.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles said Wednesday that licenses from Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Rhode Island, and Vermont can no longer be used if the driver is undocumented.

Revised U.S. Citizenship Test Could Harm Non-English Speakers

USCIS plans to unveil a new citizenship test next year, but advocates worry the updates will harm immigrants with limited English proficiency.

The new test will include a speaking section as well as multiple choice questions, which experts say require a “significantly higher level of language proficiency and test-taking skill.”

Biden Policy Leaves Some Asylum Seekers Stranded in Mexico

Border agents are allegedly coercing Venezuelan asylum seekers into a “voluntary return” arrangement that leaves them stranded in Mexico, unable to access the US asylum system.

These migrants are pressured to choose between returning to their home countries or crossing the US-Mexico border, with the U.S. government using threats of deportation and promises of a better chance of asylum if they apply through a Biden-approved process from another country.
