What documents do I need for the Boundless TN service?

The documents that prospective TN users should source now. Boundless and your employer take care of the rest.

1

A valid Canadian or Mexican passport. Make sure your passport is valid beyond the length of your planned employment in the U.S. because you cannot be granted TN status for a longer period than your passport validity. Boundless will ask you to upload a photo or scan of the photo page of your passport.

2

Official diplomas. You will need to present the official diplomas that represent your qualifications for your U.S. job. This usually means a bachelor’s degree or similar for most jobs. Boundless will ask you to upload photos or scans of all diplomas you have. Reminder: While Boundless accepts non-official copies for application preparation, you will need the official versions for when you lodge the application. Official English translations are needed for diplomas in other languages. Schools that issue Latin diplomas often offer English translations so please inquire directly with your school if this applies to you.

3

Official transcripts. For each diploma you present, you will need to also present official transcripts from each institution. Reminder: While Boundless accepts non-official copies for application preparation, you will need the official versions for when you lodge the application. Official English translations are needed for transcripts in other languages.

4

Degree evaluations. In some cases, you will need to complete a degree evaluation to ensure that your degrees will be recognized by U.S. authorities. Most U.S. and Canadian credentials do not require degree evaluations.

Boundless has partnered with International Education Evaluations (IEE) to help you get it done quickly. Please click here to learn more.

Note

If you are applying for TN via U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), your employer will need to separately complete Form I-129 Petition for a Nonimmigrant Worker and submit it directly to USCIS along with all of the aforementioned documents.

If you are a Mexican citizen, you are required to apply at a U.S. embassy or consulate. This means you will also need to separately complete Form DS-160 Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application.
